adult bible class (abc)
The ABC Programme is the Discipleship Programme of the International Central Gospel Church designed to provide new entrants with ministry that leads to their establishment in the church. New entrants include the following categories of individuals:
- Visitors who come to our church who have not given their lives to Christ. That is, they are not born again Christians.
- Born-again visitors joining our church from other churches.
- Members from other ICGC assemblies who have not completed the ABC programme and have joined Faith & Miracle Temple.
- New converts won through the church’s outreach programme.
What is the Goal?
The Goal of the ABC Programme is to make disciples of all the above categories of individuals through a carefully-designed and coordinated programme of activities including but not limited to:
- Teaching programme at the church premises.
- Follow-up activities at the community level.
In-Church Teaching Programme
This has the following components:
Beginning with Christ – Commonly referred to as New Believers, equip new believers with the basic understanding and the decision they make to give their lives to Christ and introduce them to the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Duration: 5 weeks.
Membership (Connecting with God’s Family) – This programme makes one a member, provides knowledge and understanding of the uniqueness of the ICGC, its vision, philosophy, mission, and the Church's commitment to members and vice versa. Duration: 10 weeks.
Maturity (Growing in Faith) – This level helps one grow in faith through the knowledge of biblical principles and doctrines that eventually helps the disciples exhibit the characteristics of the Christ-like nature. Duration: 12 weeks.
Ministry (Living to Serve Others) – This programme helps
disciples discover their God-given talents, gifts and abilities
equipping the disciples for ministry in the Body of Christ. It
also provides knowledge of the several avenues in the church
where the disciple can serve effectively. Duration: 14 weeks.
We desire that each participant who completes the New Believers’
course go through all the levels of the programme. All levels
require graduation.
